claws-mail-trayicon software package provides Notification area plugin for Claws Mail, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install claws-mail-trayicon
claws-mail-trayicon is installed in your system.
Make ensure the claws-mail-trayicon package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep claws-mail-trayicon *
You will get with claws-mail-trayicon package name, version, architecture and description in a table
